MH Weekly 25: Quilliam, Wabry, Goldframer, Alif Summit
👋🏼 Muslim Hub Weekly
Salams friends,
This week, I had the privilege of learning from scholars delivering durus (focused lectures) in Toronto.
Shaykh Hamza Yusuf taught us Qawaid at-Tasawwuf, while Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad delved into Fath al-Bari, to name a few as there were other shuyookh illuminating our minds & hearts.
It left me acutely aware of how little I know! And how much we all have yet to grasp—within the vast, rich tapestry of Islam’s intellectual tradition.
So, it’s only fitting to begin this edition by highlighting a publisher of some timeless works.
📍In this newsletter
Directed by Sh. Abdal Hakim Murad, The Quilliam Press publishes a range of books curated for seekers of truth.

Some of the titles I want to highlight:
The Degrees of The Soul by the Al-Azhar professor & Sufi master Sh. Al-Shabrawi is a concise guide for the wayfarer to progressively purify the ego on its Way to spiritual liberation.
The Book of Assistance is a manual, filled with practical ethics, practices, and prayers by Imam Abdallah al-Haddad that’s widely taught around the Muslim world today.
Traveling Home: Essays on Islam in Europe: perhaps the book to understand, and resolve the tension between Islam & The West — recently written by Sh. Abdal Hakim Murad (Dr. Timothy Winter).
For more titles & their descriptions, check out Quilliam Press — for UK readers finding them should be fairly straightforward, American & Canadian readers can explore Firdous Books, or other bookstores listed on MuslimHub.
Product Of The Week: Wabry Syrups
Wabry creates organic syrups to enhance beverages & desserts (with recipes on the website).

They have a wide variety of flavors: your traditional fruit flavors, chocolate hazelnut, and now lavender & rose syrup (Roohafza enjoyoors, stand up).
One of the things that I like about them is that they only rely on the natural sugar of the fruit & cane juice to create the syrup (no HFCS) - but they also carry sugar-free options.
When you look around the world, from Alhambra to Agra, the world is adorned with art from the Islamic tradition, glorifying Al-Jamal (The Beautiful).
Modernity however has commodified, & thus cheapened art — more often that not, what you see hanging in hotel lobbies & hallways is more akin to product, than art.
For those who appreciate it, owning (and not simply displaying) art has always been quite expensive, and this is a barrier that Goldframer is trying to bridge.

Goldframer is the first Islamic art fractional ownership platform.
The platform facilitates fractional ownership in exquisite Islamic artworks, democratizing & globalizing access, allowing you to hold a piece of history and also, partake in the art’s potential financial appreciation.
The Messenger of Allah ď·ş said:
He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise.
A man asked “What if a person likes his clothes & shoes to look good?”
The Prophet ď·ş replied: Verily, Allah is Beautiful and He (ď·») loves Beauty. Pride is disdaining the truth & looking down on people.
The Alif Summit is hoping to connect Muslim founders, investors, and creators on February 1st in San Francisco.

Featuring speakers like Rayouf Alhumedhi and Haroon Mokhtarzada (founder of Rocket Money) providing actionable insights, and hands-on workshops, covering tech, design, media & more.
And one of the things I realized in the week of lectures I attended, is that suhba matters — the quality of like-minded people you spend time with is arguably more important than raw information.
