👋🏽 Muslim Hub Weekly

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Salam friends,
Welcome to our weekly roundup!I hope you guys have been finding the Palestinian products we’ve been sharing useful. I wrote a thread on Twitter/X on why we’re doing this collection.
This week I’m doing something different — instead of just highlighting the companies themselves, I want to highlight their craft & the Palestinian tradition they’re upholding. Plus, I got an exclusive discount for you all, so don’t miss this one! 👇🏽
Nablus Soap
The famed historian al-Maqdisi visted the city of Nablus in 1200 AD & noted
"This city represents a palace amidst orchards, divinely blessed with the olive tree.”

The abundance of olive oil in Nablus (present-day West Bank, Palestine) presented a fertile ground for a new use: soap. A soap that is since renowned for its exceptional quality, offering gentle cleansing properties and moisturizing benefits.
In a world where our soap is filled with chemicals that we can barely pronounce, Nabulsi soap is made with just 3 ingredients: water, lye, olive oil — and you can feel the difference on your skin.
Historically it was exported around the Mediterranean, from Damascus to Marseille. Today however, the Nabulsi soap industry, a cornerstone of Palestinian heritage and economy, faces existential threats due to Israeli occupation & blockades.

Sitti Social Enterprise
Sitti Soap stands out due to innovative variants, such as saffron, nigella & even charcoal infusions!
Moreover, with every purchase you’re supporting long-term income generation for refugees in Jerash Camp.
Use our exclusive discount code launchgood10 for 10% off your purchase!

Palestinian Soap Coop
A direct distributor of the 3 historic Nabulsi soap producers in Palestine to North America and Europe.

Al’Ard
The newest entrant of Nabulsi soap, produced by the Women's Soap Co-operative of Beita, south of Nablus.
Tatreez Embroidery
Tatreez is a traditional Palestinian embroidery art, characterized by its intricate, geometric patterns and vibrant colors.
It's more than an art form; it's a cultural narrative, a means of storytelling and identity expression for Palestinian women carried throughout generations.
Each stitch tells a story, with motifs varying from one region to another, encapsulating heritage, identity, and stories through vibrant threads.

is a non-profit that showcases & sells handmade Tatreez-embroidered products crafted by Palestinian women — with every purchase, 80% of the revenue goes toward salaries & employment training programs in the West Bank.Something I found really interesting was that they’ve created a crowd-sourced archive of Tatreez works: https://tatreezarchive.org

Fun-fact: both Sitti Soap & Darzah raised funds through LaunchGood
Keep an eye out on our Instagram for their founders story!
